BASIC STITCHES AND TECHNIQUES

Magic ring
Wrap yarn around fingers to form a loop. Insert hook in center of loop made, yarn over and draw up loop

from the working yarn. Yarn over, pull through to make your first chain. (Do not count this as your first

stitch). Continue to crochet over the loop and the yarn tail until you have the required number of stitches

for your first round. Pull the yarn ends to close the loop.

Remember to weave in the yarn end after a few rows, to keep the magic ring securely closed.

Slip stitch
Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and draw through all loops.

Single crochet
Insert hook in next stitch and draw up a loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over, draw through both loops on

hook.

Invisible decrease
Insert hook into front loop of first stitch (from the front and under). Repeat into front loop of next stitch.

Yarn over, pull loop through two loops on hook, yarn over, pull loop through final two loops on hook.

head with the ends of the white yarn using your yarn needle.
