Note: These are recommendations. It is recommended that you have students complete the activities
using their background knowledge and judgment, then review and discuss each card to go over
possible reactions.

1. If Liam breaks a glass, he should tell an adult immediately. He needs gloves,

a broom, a dustpan, and a container to pick up the glass. He should carefully
sweep up the glass and dispose of it in the container.
2. If Jahzara notices that cooking oil has spilled onto the stovetop and flames
are starting to flicker, she should remember not to get scared. She shouldn't
use water because it can make things worse. Instead, she should quickly and
carefully cover the fire with a lid or a big pan.
3. Keyante should pick up the knife by the handle, with the tip pointing away.
He should carefully walk to the sink and place the knife there.
4. Lily should quickly but gently take the cherry pit away from her baby
brother to ensure he doesn't swallow it. From now on, she must ensure that
small objects are picked up immediately.
5. Ari should never climb on chairs or shelves to reach high places. Instead, he
should find an adult and ask for their help to get what he needs safely.
6. Olivia should first turn off the stove to stop the heat. Then, she should
