Caring for Nature (Pangangalaga sa Kalikasan)

POINTS OF DISCUSSION/NOTES

 Care for nature or stewardship of natural resources is the responsible use and
conservation of natural resources in a way that takes full and balanced account
of the interest of society, future generations, and other species, as well as of
private needs and accepts significant answerability to society.
 Man is not the only living organism on earth. We share the planet with
millions of other species.
 Because man is the highest form of animal, it is our responsibility to Mother
Nature and to the Supreme Being who created us all, to live in harmony with
all the other organisms and creatures on earth.
 Respect and responsibility for the care of the environment are values that
every human being should embrace not only because of the benefits he gets
from nature but because the earth is his only home.
 Harmony with nature requires holistic health, a state of physical, mental and
social well-being.
 Habitat is the environment which man and animal live.
 4 essential components of habitat:
Food, water, shelter and space…If any of these is missing, all the living
creatures in the habitat is affected. This may result to disease, predation,
pollution, or changes in climatic condition.
There is interdependence and interrelationship among the occupants of a
habitat.
 Care and protection of the environment means the protection of humanity and
all other organisms today and tomorrow.

PERFORMANCE TASK: PT 3.1

Write a letter to Mother Nature promising to take an active role and influence
others toward the preservation of the environment. Write using one whole regular-
sized bond paper. Make your work an art work as well.

Written Work: WW 3.3 Answer the following questions.


1. Explain the importance of care for nature. Answer in not less than 5 sentences
in paragraph form.
2. Identify 5 violations of the care for nature. Show how you can correct each.
