Laboratory Activity
E-Commerce Security and Payment Systems
Objectives:

At the end of the exercise, the students should be able to:

▪ Present an analysis of a case relating to the security of conducting e-commerce in a tourism-related

business; and
▪ Develop solutions/strategies to avoid security issues while in travel e-commerce.

Materials:

▪ Microsoft Word
▪ Microsoft PowerPoint
▪ Internet connection

Basic Principles:

The history of security in commercial transactions teaches that any security system can be broken if enough
resources are put against it. Security is not absolute. E-commerce security is multi-layered and must consider
new technology, policies and procedures, laws, and industry standards.
