PTO - Suspended Scaffolding- General Use

CHECKPOINTS CHECK

1. Has suspended scaffold come from yard and been inspected?

2. Trained/Authorized employees conducting work? any unauthorized employees on scaffold?

3. Employee not under the influence of alcohol or drugs?

4. PPE: Overalls, gloves, safety footwear, safety harness, gloves?

5. Operators have proof of being medically fit on their person?

6. Suspended scaffold numbered and corresponding documentation available upon request?

7. Daily inspection registers available upon request?

8. Positioning of scaffolding suitable and safe, allows free safe access?

9. All material lowered and not thrown to lower levels?

10. Is harness being used? Fitted correctly and hooked onto fixed object during procedure?

11. Has area below dismantling been demarcated and signage erected?

12. Where used is the Lifeline suitable and strong enough to take the load of fallen person?

13. Has the labor department been notified for the suspended work?

14. Are visible maximum load indicators displayed on platform?

15. Scaffolding material in good condition – no corrosion, bent, worn etc?

16. Weather conditions suitable for working on scaffolding?

17. Appointed supervisor coordinating work?

18. Employees aware of the fall rescue procedure?
