Method Statement for Preservation and Protection of Trees

Procedures:

i) Conduct initial tree survey within 2m of the boundary of the Site.

ii) Conduct tree group inspection (Form 1) within 2m of the boundary of the Site.
iii) Conduct detailed tree risk assessment (Form 2) within 2m of the boundary of the Site
whenever necessary.
iv) Fix labels on trees for identification.
v) Workers should wear safety harness with independent lifeline attached to anchor points
to carry out the tree related works in the case that working platforms have not been
formed.
vi) Use hessian cover or hessian cover and plank to protect the tree trunk according to
attached Drawing No. TP2.
vii) Preservation and protection existing trees shall comply with Section 26 of General
Specification.
viii) Conduct tree survey updating every two months for all preserved trees.
