ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY

In respect of the works to be executed under this Method Statement, the following roles and specific responsibilities are defined:

1. Site manager
The project manager / site manager is responsible on ensuring that the work and all related activities are prepared in accordance with the
safe system of work. Coordinate the overall activities to the project safety committee.
2. Safety manager
He is to oversee all steel structure erection activities and ensure that they are performed in accordance with the requirements of this
procedure.

3. QA / QC engineer
The QA / QC Engineer shall be responsible for quality control of material handling, entire fabrication works, erection, brazing installation &
painting / finishing works including documentation and inspection.

4. Erection Supervisor
The supervisor shall be responsible for the direct execution of works involved in the job site and fabrication process according to the plan
and will directly control and issue instruction to the working personnel. He also ensures that works are performed with proper tools /
equipment and good housekeeping around the working area. Not to leave any loose steel parts such as bolts & nuts or tools irrespectively
before leaving the work place. Barricade entire erection area with adequate warning signs to restrict uninvolved personnel away from it.

5. Safety Officer
The Safety Officer is to monitor and assess hazards and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel safety. And also
ensures the site safety and health plan is prepared and implemented. Make sure that all the safety requirements are fulfilled prior to start
and during the job. Job Safety Analysis / Safety Risk Assessments will be strictly implemented.

PROCEDURES:
CONSTRUCTION PROCEDURE OF GRADE BEAM AND 2ND LIFT COLUMN PEDESTAL

1.) Ground Surface Preparation(for grade beam)

a). Soil Compaction-By using Roller and Tamping Rammer(Jumping Jack)
b.) Leveling Method- Manual
2.) Cutting and bending of reinforced bars in accordance with the approved bar bending schedules.
The bending of reinforcements will be done on the bending machine, producing a gradual and even
motion. Bars will be bent cold and at specified radii

3.) Installation of Rebars for Coldbox Foundation

a.) Splicing of rebars will be provided as indicated in the approved for construction drawings
b.) The reinforcement will be accurately fixed in the required position. The bars intended to be on
contact at passing points will be securely tied together at all such points with GI tying wire.
c.) Checking the surface of reinforcement. Should be free from mud, oil, retarders,
grease or any other substance which would affect adversely the steel or concrete chemically
or reduce the bond. Also it will be ensured that it is placed in full accordance to the issued
for construction drawings
d.) Leveling of rebars using level bars
4.) Formworks Installation at Coldbox Foundation using phenolic boards(1/2 thk.)
a.) The formwork shall be well tight to prevent mortar loss
b.) The form shall support solidly and in accurate positions, all the embedded items placed as
per construction drawings.
c.) Ties will be placed at such intervals that will not allow any movement or deformation of the
formwork
d.) The formworks shall be cleaned and any foreign material shall be removed
e.) Shoring and Installation of supports

5.) Concrete Pouring and Curing for Grade Beam and Column Pedestal with a desing strength of 4000 psi
a.) Before discharging the concrete at the point of delivery, the driver will provide the Material
Engineer or Quality Control Engineer the delivery ticket identifying the material for each
batch of concrete
b.) Application of Sikadur 32 bonding agent to old concrete for fresh concrete
c.) The ready mix will be tested for slumptest and temperature not exceeding 30 degrees
before pouring. It should datisfy first the desired slump and temperature as per designed.
If the following test did not pass, the ready mix will be rejected.
The ready mix will provide the cylinder for strength testing
d.) The concrete will be deposited continuously or in layers of such thickness so that cold joints
are not formed. The concrete, which has partially hardened, will not be deposited. Suitable
construction joints will be provided to avoid formation of cold joints.
e.) After placing, the concrete will be consolidated by using mechanical or electrical vibrators,
which will be operated by competent workmen. Use of vibrators to transport concrete within
the formwork will not be allowed.
f.) Immediately after placement, concrete will be protected from premature drying and
excessively hot temperatures and will be maintained with minimum moisture loss at relatively
constant temperature for a period necessary for the hydration of the cement and hardening
of the concrete.
The curing of concrete will be carried out by one of the following procedures:
f.1) Pouring or continuous sprinkling of water.
g.) The workability of the concrete will be continuously monitored at delivery place before
casting.
h.) Stripping of formworks will take place when desired concrete strength attained.
i.) Application of Non- Shrinkable Grout Sika 212 for finishing at Column Pedestal
