The main premise of the Moss Test is to define work style in human terms, which refers to adaptability in a
position and to establish standards for organizations to function well within them.

A manager's main concern in studying human behavior is to learn the key to effectively supervise people. The
basic assumption is that productivity is directly related to the good performance and the direction of the
person's initiative to achieve the objectives to be achieved within the companies.

Similar thoughts have been expressed in many ways over time about the great importance of the human side of
business. The moss test presented here is designed as a system to assist supervisors, coordinators, chiefs,
assistant managers, managers, etc. All positions that have a correlation with direct supervision or have
personnel under their command, who are dedicated to the Administration and Development of human potential
to perform more effectively and objectively to the opportunities and problems of the human side. As such, the
moss test is also expected to have a favorable impact on the development and personal growth of those who
apply it.

We often hear in companies and/or institutions that a person has failed due to his or her inability to adequately
handle good supervision, or human relations decision making, etc. This is due to the limitations of the
candidates due to a lack of well-directed training, while performing the tasks of the position.

The moss test places candidates in the areas of:

A. SUPERVISORY SKILLS

B. DECISION MAKING IN HUMAN RELATIONS

C. ABILITY TO EVALUATE INTERPERSONAL PROBLEMS

D. ABILITY TO ESTABLISH INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS

E. COMMON SENSE AND TACT IN INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS

SUPERVISORY SKILLS.

The main concern of a manager is to study human behavior, to learn the key to effectively supervise people.

Supervision is a process of interaction between people, in which one of them leads, through his personal
influence and power, the energies, potentialities and activities of a group, to reach a goal (satisfying the needs
of the people and the organization).

Characteristics of a good supervisor:

• Maintain the importance and significance of the purpose, goals and proposal.
• Building commitment and trust
• Strengthen the mix and level of skills.
• Manage relationships with third parties, remove obstacles.
• Create opportunities for others.
• The supervisor is someone whose followers do the right thing.
• Results, not popularity is the supervisor's hallmark.
• A supervisor does not ask what do I want? If not, what needs to be done?

DECISION-MAKING CAPACITY IN HUMAN RELATIONS.

The flexibility and freedom available to managers allows them to make decisions on issues related to how to
assign the different work tasks, methods to be followed to achieve the goals of the work team, how to solve the
group's problems regarding the quality of products or services, and to establish the strategies they consider
most appropriate to solve social problems that may arise within the group.

5
Characteristics of a good manager for decision making:

• Analyze the problems, so that he in turn can make the right decision, without interfering with the person.
• Relate without any difficulty in their social environment.
• Tend to socialize or handle a large number of people but superficially.
• You will have the ability to listen to people but not go beyond a more intimate relationship.
• To be an assertive and kind person with the people around her.

ABILITY TO EVALUATE INTERPERSONAL PROBLEMS.

The manager must be able to identify the problems and opportunities they face, evaluate the options for
moving forward, and then make the necessary compromises and decisions on how to proceed. Charisma,
strength of personality, or interpersonal skills have been emphasized more than the intellectual strength that
managers need to study problems in detail and find new solutions.

Likewise, interpersonal skills, understanding and common commitment cannot occur without effective
communication and conflict, which in turn depends on interpersonal skills. These include taking risks,
constructive criticism, objectivity, active listening, giving the benefit of the doubt, support, and acknowledging
the interests and achievements of others.

Characteristics of a good manager for problem assessment:

• Analytical listening skills

• Will have the ability to listen and give accurate advice.
• A person who, when a conflict arises, will know how to handle it properly.
• He is a person who through his personal experience will know how to make the right decisions when
faced with a situation that causes him a problem, be it personal or work-related.

ABILITY TO ENHANCE INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS.

People will come to see him and express their problems, because they perceive that they like people and that
he is willing to listen to them, since he will have the patience and the pleasure to solve the problems mainly of
his closest friends.

If you have suggestions, you will offer them in a direct and formal manner. People will naturally be attracted
to your understanding and sympathy of this person. Their self-confidence, modesty, perseverance and devotion
to their group of friends combine to make Counselors a very likable person who relates deeply.

Characteristics of a good manager to establish interpersonal relationships:

• Be a realistic person and determine expectations in the face of a problem.

• Provide feedback to your friendship group intimately.
• He will relate deeply with his group of friends since it will be small.
• You will have the ability to design a friendship process for each of them.
• He is an extremely emotional person with his group of friends.

*COMMON SENSE AND TACT IN INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS.

Common sense tells us that it is a mistake not to take skills into account when building a team, particularly
technical skills and functions. And no team can achieve its purpose without developing all the required skill
levels. Yet it is surprising how many people join teams primarily on the basis of personal compatibility or
formal position in the organization.

Therefore, it is important to establish the trust of subordinates to identify the problems that afflict them, if the
manager has the skills to be very analytical with his staff to listen to them and interact a little more, he will
know how to manage relationships with his workers and they will tend to increase their labor productivity.

Characteristics of a good manager to have common sense and tact with people.
