LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEET 1
Name of Student: ____________________________________________________________

Learning Area – Grade Level: ________________________________________________

Date: ______________________________________________________________________
I. INTRODUCTORY CONCEPT
Hello dear learners! Welcome to this activity on Empowerment Technology. One of the
important reasons in using computers per se is its ability to do recurring tasks automatically. But this
ability has to be honed by learning the characteristics and features of the software you use with your
computers. After all, no matter how good or advanced your computers and software may be, it can only
be as good as the person using it.

In this activity, we will learn one of the most powerful and commonly used features of Microsoft
called “PowerPoint”. To create an effective presentation, one should consider the following: (1)
minimize the content to maintain a clear message, (2) avoid being fancy by using fonts that are easy to
read, (3) keep things simple through the use of bullets or short sentences, (4) use visuals like charts
and graphs but avoid using ones that distract the audience, (5) be consistent by having unform font
styles, and (6) be mindful of the contrast.

You may also use hyperlinks to create links to an existing file or web page, a place in the
document or to send email to a specified recipient. Also, embedding object allows you to insert files
inside your presentation.

There are plenty of tools you can use to present data. Designing your presentation is the fun
part of preparing the report, for it gives you a chance to be creative. Placing animation, transition, and
art could be on your mind right now. But whether or not these features would help is generally up to
you. Sometimes, these things could actually distract your audience rather than help you. But here are
some quick tips in creating an effective presentation: (1) minimization, (2) clarity, (3) simplicity, (4)
visuals, (5) consistency, and (6) contrast.

III. ACTIVITIES
Please Read:
Animation is the process of making the illusion of motion and the illusion of change by means
of the rapid succession of sequential images that minimally differ from each other. Microsoft
PowerPoint provides several animations styles in different categories, namely, Entrance, Emphasis,
Exit and Motion Paths. Animations make your presentation more dynamic. If you want to put

animations in your presentation, all you have to do is go to the Animations Tab and click Add
Animations. From there, you can find various animations types for entrance, emphasis, exit and
motion paths.
A hyperlink which is frequently stated as “links” is a text or image on the screen that you can
click on to jump to another file or within the existing file. When you hover your pointer over a hyperlink,
either it is text or an image, the arrow changes into a small pointing hand, called hyperlink cursor. It is
usually activated by clicking on the text or image. Text hyperlinks are usually in color blue and
underlined.
Hyperlinks in PowerPoint allow you to navigate to another slide in the current presentation,
another slide in a different presentation, another file or webpage, or email address.
Link to Options:
a. Existing File or Web Page- creates a hyperlink to website or a local file saved in your hard
drive. Just browse your file in the dialog box or type the web address.
b. Place in this Document- create a hyperlink that allows you to jump to a specific slide in your
presentation.
c. Create a New Document - create a hyperlink that once clicked, creates a new document on
your specified location.

specified recipient on a new email.
