Ministry of Planning Development and Special Initiatives (MoPD&SI) held a
progress review and consultative meeting and notified a Steering Committee for GSCP under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning. A meeting of Steering Committee was held on August 30, 2022, wherein it was recommended that the revised PC-I would be prepared in consultation with Inspector General Police, Islamabad. On the direction of the Steering Committee, a meeting under the chairmanship of I.G. Police Islamabad/ DG Islamabad Safe City Project was held on 03-09-2022 and it was recommended that PC-I should be rationalized and modified to the extent of Army Police & IT, building and design, Human Resource and Emergency Response Centre. Pursuant to the said recommendations, series of meetings under Chairmanship ACS (Dev) with all stakeholders were held and finally revised PC-I was rationalized with cost and scope. The revised PC-I with the cost of Rs. 4966.905 million was submitted to P&D Department for holding PDWP meeting. On 13th September, 2022, PDWP meeting was held under the Chairmanship of ACS (Dev) wherein, revised PC-I was approved and the project was recommended for consideration by the CDWP. The revised PC-I has also been uploaded on IPAS by P&D Department. Pre CDWP meeting was conducted and 20 observations were raised by Planning Commission & Finance Commission which was removed on 21 st October, 2022 and the revised PC-I with reply of observations uploaded on IPAS.
Appointment of Independent Project Director:
Pursuant to the decisions taken in meeting of Steering Committee for
Gwadar Safe City Project, dated 30-08-2022, the Home & T.A Department initiated the hiring process of Independent PD, GSCP and advertised the post in leading newspapers of Pakistan i.e., Dawn, The News, Jang on 31- 08-2022. In response to that advertisement, 23 candidates submitted their CVs for the Post of PD, GSCP. The recruitment process for appointment of PD has been completed and a summary thereof has been processed for approval of Hon’ble Chief Minister Balochistan.
