The Child and Adolescent Learners and Learning Principles

Directions: Provide the necessary information in the space provided.

1. Reflect on your childhood, middle and late childhood days. Were you able to acquire the developmental
tasks expected of early, middle, and late childhood andadolescence? What facilitated your acquisition of the
ability to perform such tasks?

In my early childhood, things are very perfect. I go to school to learn read and write. I got friends and play
with them. I learned how to get home by myself from school. In my middle and late childhood, things became a
little bit serious. I have to study well. I discover what’s right and wrong for myself, for my family, and for the
society. And those improvements was gain by the guidance of my parents and my teachers.

2. Having mastered the developmental tasks of early childhood, middle and late childhood, and adolescence,
reflect on what you should do as a teacher to facilitate your students’ acquisition of these developmental tasks.
Write down yourreflections.

Different stage of of development has it’s own ability to adapt. Children in their early childhood can
only digest fewer than those who are in their middle and late childhood. So, execution of teaching is
different with those three. When the child is still in their early childhood, basic teaching is essential like
writing and reading. Minimal but efficient knowledge should be given to them. But those who are in their
middle and late childhood, teaching how the world run is important. This is the time that they should
know how things in this world works. Minor knowledge about the world is enough. Just expose them and
let them see how things are done.
