1st Round: Live Q&A Section - 40% of final score (1 hour):
The judging panel will pose questions to the
participants verbally (occasionally visual components
are included). Participants will work individually
using a whiteboard, and they will be given 10-15
seconds to answer the question.
Example Q: During an action potential, which ion channels are
the first to open?
A: Sodium channels

2nd Round: Written section - 60% of final score

(1 hour 20 minutes):
This section will consist of 45 questions including
multiple-choice questions and short answer questions
which may involve data and graphical analysis and
reasoning. Participants will be given 60 minutes to
complete the paper individually, and their answers
will be marked by the judges of the competition.
Example Q: Indicate three (3) differences between declarative
and nondeclarative memory.
