 Use relational symbols to compare numbers from 1 up to 1,000.

Transfer Goals: Students on their own and in the long run will be able to:
 Help them to compare numbers will help us in our daily life. When we buy food or clothes, we check
which is greater or lesser in price.
STAGES ACTIVITIES
(Day 1)
MOTIVATION
EXPLORE  Present a picture of a family, along with their names and ages. Say,
 Ask the learners these following questions:
 Who is younger, Maria or Jhoana? Why do you say so?
 Who is older, Mommy Teresa or Daddy Roger? Why do you say so?
(Day 1)
 Continue with your discussion about the ages of the Blanco family members.
FIRM-UP
 Present the table that shows the ages of the children. Say, “We first compare the
ages of Jhoana and Maria.”
 Ask the following questions:
a. What is Maria's age?
b. What is Jhoana’s age?
c. Is 5 bigger or smaller than 9?
 Explain the comparing numbers.
 Present the image with the greater than symbol and the alligator’s mouth. Say,
“The symbol for greater than is >. To remember how it looks, it is like an
alligator's mouth eating the bigger number on the left side.”
(Day 2)
 Give another example to check learners’ understanding.
 Present this place value chart.
 Ask the following questions:
a. What digits will you compare first?
b. Is 2 bigger or smaller than 3?
 Present the answer to the learners.
(Day 3)
 Give an example of comparing bigger numbers.
 Present the place value chart that shows the given numbers.
 Ask the following questions to the learners
 Recall the different relational symbols.
 Present the numbers to be compared. Ask the learners to write the correct
relation symbol on a paper or a whiteboard.
