Background of the study

Introduction

According to Nya Gibson, Social media is the new communal gathering place for many
people around the world. Users rely on social media avenues to receive and share
information about their communities, business, politics, lifestyles, and for pure
entertainment. With social media being prevalent amongst the younger generation,
business have refocused their organization structure specifically on marketing through
social media.

In social media, marketers can promote a brand and service through posting videos,
pictures, ads, vlogs, blogs, and articles. Businessmen and marketers can attract more
customers. With social media marketing, businessmen and marketers can connect to
customers and develop customer service relationships,businessmen and marketers will
understand consumers, the more responsive marketers may be to consumer’s demands.
studies have shown that 28% of people who use the internet found new product after
viewing social media ads. If the business is involved in social media world it may help
build customers loyalty and increase their profits and sales. With the use of social media
it seems that the business should adapt the new trend in this generation. Twitter,
Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube are the social media apps that may be use
for social media marketing

Barangay Fatima general santos city, have a lot of possible respondents that use social
media marketing for their business.

Statement of the problem

The purpose of this study is to explore how business can leverage social media
marketing to effectively grow their business and drive success and to also analyze how
social media use by respondents to market business.

Specifically, this study sought to answer the following questions:

1. How can social media help market a business?

2. What kind of social meda did the respondents use to market a business?

3. Why do the respondents use social media to market their business?

4. What is the impact of using social media in marketing their business?


Scope and Delimitation

This study limots on marketers and businessmen to help their business to increase their
market reach including international markets and to attractod customers in Barangay
Fatima, General Santos City.

Significance of the study

The findings of this study will help the respondents to improve the market with the use
of social media as marketing, considering that social media is the customer's equity and
profits in business today.

1. To the consumer — This study can give knowledge to know how social media
marketing use in business.

2. To the business owners — The respondents can gain more knowledge to manage
business in social media.

3. To the future researchers — This study can give a benefits, knowledge and idea on
how to use social media marketing in business.

Definition of terms

1. Social media – The means of interactions among people in which the create,
share, and or exchange information and ideas in virtual communities
and networks.

2. Marketing – Is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating,


communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for
customers, clients, partners, and society at large.

3. Social media marketing – Using social media platforms such as Instagram,


Twitter, and Facebook to promote a brand and sell a product or service.

4. Business – An organization or enterprising entity engaged in commercial,


industrial, or professional activities.

5. effect –a change that results when something is done or happens

6. Fatima, General Santos City – Fatima, General Santos City (Dadiangas), South
Cotabato, Soccsksargen (Region XII) is located in Philippines.
