ENVIRONMENTAL

ISSUES
ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES ARE DISRUPTIONS IN THE USUAL
FUNCTION OF ECOSYSTEMS. FURTHER, THESE ISSUES CAN BE
CAUSED BY HUMANS (HUMAN IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT) OR
THEY CAN BE NATURAL. THESE ISSUES ARE CONSIDERED SERIOUS
WHEN THE ECOSYSTEM CANNOT RECOVER IN THE PRESENT
SITUATION, AND CATASTROPHIC IF THE ECOSYSTEM IS PROJECTED
TO CERTAINLY COLLAPSE.
POLLUTION
Pollution occurs when an amount of any substance or
any form of energy is put into the environment at a
rate faster than it can be dispersed or safely stored.
The term pollution can refer to both artificial and
natural materials that are created, consumed, and
discarded in an unsustainable manner.
EXAMPLES
AIR ,WATER,SOIL ,NOISE
CLIMATE
In common usage, climate change describes
global warming—the ongoing increase in global
average temperature—and its effects on Earth's
climate system. Climate change in a broader
sense also includes previous long-term changes
to Earth's climate. The current rise in global
average temperature is more rapid than previous
changes, and is primarily caused by humans
burning fossil fuels.
NOISE POLLUTION
Noise pollution, or sound pollution, is the
propagation of noise or sound with ranging
impacts on the activity of human or animal life,
most of which are harmful to a degree. The source
of outdoor noise worldwide is mainly caused by
machines, transport and propagation systems.
Poor urban planning may give rise to noise
disintegration or pollution, side-by-side industrial
and residential buildings
DEFORESTATION
Deforestation occurs when forests are
converted—typically through logging,
natural disasters, wildfire, and mining
—to non-forest uses, often
agriculture, logging, road
construction, and urban development.
GLOBAL WARMING
a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the
earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the
greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of
carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other
pollutants.
TOXIC WASTE
Toxic waste results from industrial, chemical,
and biological processes. Toxins are found in
household, office, and commercial wastes.
Examples of common products that routinely
become part of the toxic waste streams of
industrialized countries include batteries for
electronic devices, pesticides, cell phones, and
computers.
WATER POLLUTION
Water pollution (or aquatic pollution) is the contamination of
water bodies, usually as a result of human activities, so that it
negatively affects its uses. Water bodies include lakes, rivers,
oceans, aquifers, reservoirs and groundwater. Water pollution
results when contaminants mix with these water bodies.
Contaminants can come from one of four main sources: sewage
discharges, industrial activities
OVER POPULATION
Overpopulation refers to a population which exceeds its
sustainable size within a particular environment or habitat.
Overpopulation results from an increased birth rate, decreased
death rate, the immigration to a new ecological niche with
fewer predators, or the sudden decline in available resources.
Therefore, overpopulation describes a situation
