Subject: The Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination of Seafarers and Issue of

Certificates) (List of Approved Doctors) Notification of 2021 (P.I. 193/2021)

1. I refer to the above subject and further to my Circular No. 16/2020, regarding the
issue of Notification P.I. 201/2020, I wish to inform you that the Shipping Deputy
Minister to The President of the Republic of Cyprus, in exercising his powers under
Section 12 of the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination of Seafarers and Issue of
Certificates) Laws of 2000 and 2014,(Law 107(I)/2000 and 71(I)/2014),issued The
Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination of Seafarers and Issue of Certificates) (List
of Approved Doctors) Notification of 2021 P.I. 193/2021 (published in the Official
Gazette of the Republic No. 5519, Supplement III(I), dated 07.5.2020).

2. Seafarer´s Medical Examinations should be carried out and Medical Certificates,

should be issued, either by doctors in the private sector whose names appear in the
following list of Approved Doctors or by doctors working in the Government General
Hospitals (Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Ammochostos, Paphos).

3. Notification P.I. 193/2021, repeals the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination of

Seafarers and Issue of Certificates) (List of Approved Doctors) Notification of 2020,
P.I.201/2020.

4. Notification P.I.193 /2021, in its Greek official version is attached herewith.

5. The Present Circular repeals and replaces Circular No.16/2020.
