Core Competencies
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be

• Responsible for execution of day to day tasks related to monitoring and managing relational
database management systems
• Performs root cause analysis on trended database incidents, performance tuning and major
outages up through the application stack
• Develops automation that can trigger off a variety of industry standard monitoring tools to
resolve common issues in the environment or maintain operating levels
• Contributes to the design of scaling the management of an enterprise database environment
including high availability deployment, pluggable databases, encryption and more
• Specifies proper types of files organization, indexing methods, and security procedures
• Advises project teams on the design of moderately complex databases
• Defines specialized aspects of user’s data base administration documentation
• Develops backup and archival policies and procedures
• Configures storage systems software to meet requirements
• Implements software solutions for performance enhancement, operator interface, and increased
user capability
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:
Lifting/Carrying:
• Occasionally carrying items weighing under 10 lbs.
• Rarely carrying items weighing between 11-20 lbs.
Twisting/Turning:
• Occasionally reaching over shoulder
• Overhead and reaching outward
• Occasionally bending
• Frequently walking normal surfaces
• Constant sitting
Other:
• Constant use of keyboard, fine dexterity, grasping, holding
• Constant repetitive motion – hands
