Digging Holes
Hole size- digging a hole must depend upon the height and the size of the plant to be planted.

Methods in digging the right size of hole based on the type of planting materials:
 Use the right tools- In order to get a better result, you'll must use the right tools when digging holes.
 Dig appropriately size holes—the size of the holes should be proportional to the size of the plants so that root
growth is not hampered.
 Seeds- a seed can only be planted twice as deep as its width.
 Small plants- the plant should not sit deeper in the ground. The base of the plant does not need extra soil to
cover. This protects the plant parts from rotting.
 Large plants- a hole must be about twice the diameter of the pot and about one and a half to two times deeper
than the depth of the plant. Backfilling in the hole with some excess soil is needed in order to let the plant stand
on its own.
 Trees- trees need holes that are three to four times wider than the container. The hole should be no deeper than
the container.
