How to find research articles on
PubMed

Simple search: To perform a simple search on

PubMed, enter your keywords or search terms in the
search box at the top of the page. PubMed will
search for articles that contain your keywords in the
title, abstract, or author names.

Advanced search: To perform an advanced

search, click on the "Advanced" link next to
the search box. This will open a new page
where you can enter more specific search
criteria, such as publication date, language,
and type of article.

MeSH terms: PubMed uses Medical Subject

How to evaluate research articles on
PubMed

Read the abstract: The abstract is a summary

of the article that is typically one or two
paragraphs long. It should give you a good
overview of the article and help you decide if
it is relevant to your interests.

Consider the study design: The study design

is the method that the researchers used to
collect and analyze their data. Different study
designs have different strengths and
weaknesses. It is important to consider the
study design when evaluating an article.

Look at the results: The results section of the

article presents the findings of the study. It is
important to look at the results carefully to
see if they are statistically significant and
clinically meaningful.
