EVERY CHILD IS SPECIAL

(REACTION PAPER)

The movie entitled "Every Child is Special," directed by Aamir Khan, is a heartwarming story
that explores the world of childhood, education, and the hidden potential within every child.
Through the story of Ishaan, a dyslexic boy struggling with conventional education, the film
brings to light the importance of understanding and nurturing the unique abilities of every child.

Ishaan's journey with his school, parents, classmates, and teachers due to his dyslexia is a central
theme. Dyslexia is a learning difficulty that affects reading and spelling skills, often
accompanied by challenges in phonological awareness and verbal memory. Ishaan's difficulties
in understanding instructions and poor motor skills make him seem like a troublemaker at first.
However, he possesses a special talent for painting and a vivid imagination, which unfortunately
go unnoticed. This situation mirrors real-life challenges faced by many children with
unconventional learning styles or special needs. What sets the movie apart is the character of Mr.
Nikumbh, a teacher who himself struggled with dyslexia as a child. He understands Ishaan and
works tirelessly to help him improve in various subjects. Despite the obstacles Ishaan faces, Mr.
Nikumbh remains a constant source of support.

This movie serves as a reminder that each child is special in their own way and deserves to be
recognized and supported for who they are. It challenges our preconceived notions about
education and success, urging us to look beyond grades and test scores to see the true potential
that lies within every child. As a viewer, it has reinforced my belief in the power of empathy,
education, and the beauty of embracing differences. This film is not just a piece of entertainment;
it is a powerful tool for positive change in the way we perceive and nurture the potential of every
child.
