Remarks 1.1
After completing the repair work and prior to handing the system over to the customer, the
ground wire resistance of the unit (AXA4-100.840 / Checking the Ground Wires) must be
checked.
When performing the work steps and checks, the general safety information for medical
products must be observed.
Control Cabinets
WARNING Even after switching off (Shutdown) the system, there is still
voltage present in the system control cabinet and in the gen-
erator.
If this is not observed, death or serious bodily injury can
occur.
¹ Observe the warning labels in the electronic cabinets.
¹ Power to the radiographic system must be switched off
at the on-site on/off switch.

The following tables provide an overview of designations for the potentiometers, encodes,
reference tags, switches, motors and MCU channels of the various axes:
Adjustment, General 0
Potentiometers
Adjustment of the potentiometers in the various axes is always performed according to the
same principle:
• Start the service interface, select <Tune up > <Stand> <Potentiometer Adjustment>
with <Select> and press <Start>.
• The axis to be adjusted is moved into a defined calibration position (use a spirit level or
a tape measure).
• Disengage the potentiometer from the axis, take the gear teeth out of mesh or loosen
the set screw on the potentiometer shaft.
• The actual value for the active potentiometer is displayed on the DDIS in the “Stand
message line” (examination room). All potentiometer values are displayed in the ser-
vice interface (control room).
NOTE When moving the axis, make sure that there is not a drop
below or a rise above the A/D values, because this will
destroy the potentiometer.
Max. range of the potentiometer: 0...4096
Do not drop below or exceed the range: 50...4046
Reference Tags
Mechanical adjustment of the reflective photo-sensitive cells is performed by loosening the
mounting screws so that the photo-sensitive cell can just be moved.
The distance from the reflective surface should be 3,5 ± 1 mm betragen.
The reflective surface must be clean, otherwise function will be affected.
The values listed for voltage and AD values in the value tables are only reference values
that do not have to be set. The software automatically recognizes the reference tags.
Allocation of Terms 0
Allocation of the terms such as reference tag, to the unit positions. Below are the examples
of Cran/Caud Orbital and Gantry tilt movements.
Position the C-Arm vertically, remove the OT I.I. cover on the head end (2/Fig. 5 / p. 11).
Raise the C-Arm Orbital, middle of the depression (1/Fig. 6 / p. 15) on the C-Arm to the
edge of the machined surface (2/Fig. 6 / p. 15) on the C-Arm mount.
The setting for the C-Arm is at a vertical angle 0 ± 0,2 Grad measured with the spirit level
on the side of the C-Arm.
Prerequisite: Gantry tilt angle 0, ± 0.2 degrees measured with the spirit level at the top
on the longitudinal support.
1. To do this, the C-Arm must be moved longitudinally all the way to the head and and RAO must be at -90°.

tape measure (1/Fig. 21 / p. 31) next to the cover panel, directly on the carriage.
Prerequisite 0
Prerequisite for the linearity adjustment is that the potentiometers have been correctly
adjusted.
A tape measure and a spirit level are needed as aids.
Settings 0
In the service screen, select <Tune Up> <Stand><Movement Linearity Range Adjustment>
with <Select> and press <Start or <Go>. The results of the last adjustment will be displayed
in the Result box. The individual axes can be selected by using the <Set> button.
The axis is displayed on the data display and the direction or position in which the axis is
to be moved (Fig. 3 / p. 10). Depending on the axis, movement must be into 1 to 3 posi-
tions. The same values and illustrations apply here as for the corresponding potentiometer
adjustment.
Once the axis has been aligned using the spirit level or the tape measure, this position is
temporarily saved by pressing the Prog_1, Prog_2, Prog_3 buttons on the stand control
module (SCM).
NOTE The <Monitor A> axis for the MTS/DCS is an exception to this.
Here, temporary storage is performed only with the Prog_1
button.

• Move table transverse to approx. 10 mm before the ceiling rails (2/Fig. 24 / p. 37), if
necessary, use the two override keys.
• Move the center of the MTS/DCS carriage (center of rotation bearing (1/Fig. 25 / p. 37))
to the center of the tabletop.
• The <Monitor A> axis is selected in the service menu.
- Temporarily save the value with the Prog 1 button.
- The final save is made by pressing the <STORE> button.
- Save the data with <SAVE> and exit the service software with <EXIT>.
Due to mechanical tolerance and different loads exerted by a 40 cm I.I., the limit switches
in the rotation, orbital and receptor axes can respond. The position of the software limit
switches is redefined by the End Position Adjustment and movement into the limit switches
is avoided. Aids for this adjustment are not needed.
NOTE Beginning with VBxx software, only the orbital and receptor
axis needs to be adjusted.
In the service screen, select <Tune Up> <Stand><End Position Adjustment> with <Select>
and press <Start>. The results of the last adjustment will be displayed in the Result box.
The individual axes can be selected by using the <Set> button.
Adjustment of the end positions is supported by the service software.
Follow the information on the display (Fig. 3 / p. 10).
Readjustment is necessary only if despite correct potentiometer adjustment and completed
linearity adjustment, there is movement into one of the limit switches.
The axis is displayed on the data display and the direction or position in which the axis is
to be moved. After reaching the end position (software limit), the axis must be moved fur-
ther by pressing the override buttons (simultaneously press the Prog_1 and Prog_2 but-
tons) until the hardware limit switches are reached.
The result of the adjustment is displayed on the data display. The axis adjustment is saved
by pressing the <Store> button and there is a skip to the next axis.
