Case # 7: “I Can Afford Anyway”

In the many survey done, it has been a shame to say that our country
belongs to the list of countries with many corrupt officials. Indeed, branded by the
name corrupt is never a compliment for us. It is a sad reality that is actually posted
on the net and is seen all throughout world which made us really famous. Yes, we
are famous in having lowly officials who think only of themselves that is the very
reason that what we want is transparency in the government. We want to know the
truth about the officials governing us, for they hold the key to our success. The
present condition of our country, its name and people’s future rely mostly to the
hands of the people in the position. We are dependent on their every move. We
fervently hope that it is us that they are thinking and not their personal intentions.

But as for us, as we aim for victory for all, there will always be people who
wouldn’t want to share the same thing. They are those who were born with their
silver spoons buried in their mouths. They always would want to flaunt what they
have, may it be in their precious name, branded clothes, or even their powers being
in the positions. People like this are much seen nowadays. They would like to be
recognize as people on top of the others. They love to belittle our poor people and
want them to work their selves to death and they would just laugh for the misery
they are seeing. Sad reality but most likely the truth behind the curtains laid before
us.

Needless to say this, but even if they are actually wealthy and have much
they are most likely to behave as professionals being in the government. They are
expected to uphold the welfare of the people by being simple and not indulge
themselves in too much extravagant that could give double meaning to people that
they are actually doing monkey business in the government. It is not directly part of
the Civil Service Commission to mandate people in the government of how they
should behave and use their wealth, however, by the rules and regulations being
imposed for all government officials to abide and for the sake of transparency and
no more questions to raise for them, they would actually have to be careful of their
chosen lifestyle.

They are not being judge but however we all should consider the mere fact
that our country’s name is being dragged in shame for the wrongdoings of the many
officials. It just a simple thing to do: to have a simple lifestyle that would fit to the
life a government official or employee should have. We should not let that corruption
instill in the minds of the people with our small acts we can make a big difference
and change the course of the potter’s hand for this country and the people’s sake.
