I. Creative Writing
This subject's lessons helped me improve my writing creativity. Creative writing has been shown to
improve language learning as well as to help students unleash their creative side and feel more
comfortable writing in and about everyday life. At our own university, creative writing has been used as a
new approach to mastering a foreign language. The topics of this subject are interesting yet very
challenging. The most interesting part of this subject was all about figurative language because it helped
me to make a phrase or a sentence more meaningful and creative, which helped me to learn more about
writing. On the other hand, the topic that interests me the least is literature, because I dislike reading,
which makes it difficult for me to understand it. The most difficult aspect of taking Creative Writing is
writing a story in which you must think carefully about a good storyline that will pique the reader's interest
in the story you write; the more difficult the task, the more you will improve. As a HUMSS student,
studying Creative Writing is important because the students who refer to this strand believe that it is very
important for them, as there are college courses and jobs that involve Communicating. Creative writing has
helped us to think creatively in new ways and has improved the way we speak and communicate. Studying
this subject is extremely beneficial for people who have difficulty communicating, as well as for expressing
one's thoughts and emotions; it is extremely beneficial in all aspects of life. Creative writing broadens our
knowledge and learnings not only in writing but also in the way we communicate and improves our
vocabulary, writing skills, and grammar, allowing us to convey our thoughts, imaginations, and creativity
that comes from our minds. The first task I completed in this subject was to write a story using figurative
language; it was a difficult task for us students because I was completely exhausted thinking about what
figurative language to use next, but it was an interesting task. The second task assigned to us students was
to write a story with a plot diagram and Figurative Language. This was difficult because it takes time for me
to think of a good plot for a story and I wanted to finish it as soon as possible. . The final task assigned to us
is about literacy/literature, which I found difficult to understand but was extremely difficult for me. When
compared to before, creative writing has helped me to broaden my thinking.

II. Philippine Politics and Governance

Politics, in my opinion it talks about the people that who will make the decision to choose someone
that has the power, leadership and proper governance. It also involves: Government, Politicians and
Parties. Politics, in a more scientific sense, refers to the process through which political leaders and
parties achieve their goals, which may or may not be consistent with those of other political parties.
Politics’ primary purpose is to improve the standard of living in the region by launching development
and activities through government initiatives. It is possible that citizens will be required to observe new
rules. Politics is likewise a game where power has a better chance of winning. The concept of politics and
governance of the Philippines came from a colonial Government, since Spanish domination, the
Philippines have been highly centralized, with a “Imperial Manila” as its capital. In 1893, the Spanish
established entities to unite barangays, and in 1905, the Americans established province
administrations. Both measures, however, left the capital with the bulk of authority. In 1571, the
colonial authority of Manila was created. Spain brought about changes in the people’s political, social,
and cultural lives. Christianity is one of them. The Filipinos waged Asia’s first patriotic revolt against the
Spaniards in 1896. The historical context of Philippine democratic politics has an influence on our
current circumstances in that it helps us understand
 the necessity of having freedom. Democracy increases decision-making quality and gives a means of
resolving disputes and conflicts. Democracy increases citizens’ dignity and is superior to other kinds of
governance in that it allows us to fix our mistakes. Should students be involved in Politics? My answer is
yes, mostly students in my generation today is more likely involved in politics. It helps us to know more
and understand the idea of politics because the younger generations will be the one’s that will look after
in this country in the future, they will decide for the better future for the country that is why it is very
important for the students to get involved in politics. The student’s that is involved in politics may now
the different sides of the politics and will be also open minded about corruption that exist in political
system. However, the current political environment is inappropriate. Corruption can be found anywhere
positions doesn’t matter in terms of corruption that’s why people should be more aware in politics,
especially students in today’s generation. The role of the Government in this time of pandemic is to
ensure the citizens in a community by implementing safety protocols and guidelines and spread
awareness and activities that will help the people to learn more about the pandemic and low the risk of
getting infected. The Government also provide some needs for those people who lack of financial
support. In times of pandemic the Government never fails the people in this country because all of us
are suffering that’s why the Government did their best to do their jobs in times of this crisis.

III. Discipline and Ideas in the Applied Social Sciences

In previous semester, we discussed about Discipline and Ideas in Social Sciences whereaswe discuss the
branches and its subfields.In Social Science it is more on to the discovering offacts about humans and other
social animals. I have learned that Social Science studies thehistorical, cultural, sociological, psychological,
and the political forces that shape the actions ofindividuals and their impact on society. The different
disciplines that we have discussed undersocial sciences all help in providing a better understanding and
appreciation of the complexissues that face society. These disciplines are Anthropology, the study of
ancient societies andtheir cultural tradition. Demography, the study of human population.Economics, the
study ofthe efficient allocation of scarce resources in order to satisfy unlimited human needs and
wants.Geography, the study of interaction between the natural environment and the people living
int.Linguistics, the scientific study of language History, the study of the recorded past. PoliticalScience, the
study of power, politics and government. Psychology, the scientific study ofbehaviour and mental
processes. Sociology, the scientific study of the society as a whole. Wealso discussed about the different
approaches of Social Science whereas it provides anintroduction to the dominant approaches and ideas in
the social sciences. It identifies the keyideas and assumptions as well as the key theoretical and
methodological issue associated witheach approach. These approaches are Rational Choice Theory,
Symbolic Interactionism,Structural-functionalism, Institutionalism, Human Environment System
Approach,Psychoanalysis, Hermeneutic-phenomenology, Marxism and Feminist Theory.In conclusion, the
main reason why it is important to study the social sciences is becausethe knowledge of the social sciences
can help us improve our societies. By studying socialscience, we are becoming better informed about how
societies should be put together. Studyingsocial sciences can provide us with so many important answers
and observations that may helpimprove the understanding of our lives, and thus help us to improve our
interactions with eachother.

kanilang mga iniisip sa isang napaka-tuwirang paraan. Ang parehong anyo ng mga sulatin ay maaaring

Para sa akin, ito ay mahalaga upang malaman at maunawaan ang mga paksa na ay binuo ang aming kultura
at pamana, upang pinahahalagahan ang mga ito. Sa paksang ito natutunan ko na ang pagsusulat ay isang
personal na trabaho sa loob ng Academy. Sa nakaraan, ang sanaysay ay nakasulat sa isang partikular na

pakikipag-ugnayan sa aming mga ideya mabisa at na kami ay lumalaki tulad ng mga manunulat. Ikaw ay
dapat na makakuha ng isang mahusay na pag-unawa sa mga prinsipyo ng pang-akademikong pagsulat, sa
gayon maaari mong ipakita ang iyong mga ideya epektibo.
