1. Central Vigilance Commission is the main

agency for preventing corruption in the
central government .

11. later in 2003 the Parliament enacted law
conferring statutory status on the CVC.

13. In 2004, the CVC has been designated as the
agency to receive and act on complaints or
disclosure on any allegation of corruption or
misuse of office from whistleblowers under the
the public interest disclosure and protection of
informers resolution which is popularly known as
whistleblowers resolution.

only designated agency to take action against
compliance making motivated or vexatious
complaints.

17. CVC is considered to be the apex Vigilance
institution free of control from any executive
authority monitoring all Vigilance activity under

COMPOSITION
1. The CVC is a multi member body.

not more than two Vigilance Commissioners.

under his hand and seal.

leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha.

THE PRESIDENT CAN REMOVE
1. the central Vigilance Commissioner or any
Vigilance commissioner from the office under the
following circumstances.

3. if he is adjudged an insolvent .

 involves moral turpitude .

ெப ற தா எ றா .
7. if he engages during his term of office in any paid
employment outside the duties of his office.

அைத தவ ர ம ற ஊத ய த பணிக

9. .if he is unfit to continue in office by reason of
infirmity of Mind or body
10. உட ம மன ரீத யாக ெசய பட யாத

11. if he has acquired such financial or other
interest as is likely to affect prejudicially his
official functions.

13. In addition to this president can remove the
central Vigilance Commissioner or other
Vigilance Commissioner on the ground of proved
misbehavior or incapacity .

15. However in this matter president has to refer the
matter to the supreme court for an enquiry.

17. If the supreme court after the enquiry upholds
the cause of removal and advises so, then the
president can remove him.

19. .He is Deemed to be guilty of Miss behaviour if
he is concerned or interested in any contract
or agreement made by the central government
or participates in anyway in the profit of such
contract or agreement or in any benefit or
emoluments arising therefrom otherwise than
as a member and in common with the other
members of an incorporated company .

THE SALARY
1. The salary, allowances and other conditions of
service of the central Vigilance Commissioner are
similar to those of the the Chairman of UPSC.

3. And that of the Vigilance Commissioners are
similar to those of a member of UPSC .
