What is MeRL?

 MeRL (previously known as Marine Repair Logistics) was created in 2008 to be a service
concierge supporting Cummins MerCruiser Diesel Zeus and Axius powered vessels.
 MeRL targets vessel owners to assist with:
o Repair event management
 Warranty Support
 Parts Expediting
 Diagnostic Support
o Locating local service providers
o General Zeus and Axius information

2011 MeRL Enhancements


Over the past three years MeRL has established itself as a premier service concierge for CMD
Zeus and Axius products. The population of Zeus and Axius powered vessels has grown rapidly
due to the benefits that the systems provide combined with the superior service that MeRL has
facilitated through our distribution.

Due to the increase in call volumes we have experienced, CMD has invested in growing our
MeRL capabilities. The enhancements include system, infrastructure and resources. This
infrastructure will allow MeRL to better track and communicate repairs with customers,
distribution and OEM’s. Our incremental investments in MeRL are aimed to continue to
improve customer satisfaction with our products and limit their downtime due to unscheduled
repairs.
When a customer, OEM, or OEM dealer contacts MeRL regarding a Zeus/Axius repair or with
general question, they will be routed to a specialist as shown in the diagram below.

When a CMD distributor or dealer contacts MeRL regarding a Zeus/Axius repair or with a
general question, they will be routed to a specialist as shown in the diagram below. Please note
that technical support should follow the established technical escalation process as documented
in the next section.
Technical Escalation Process
For issues where a CMD distributor or dealer technician needs support troubleshooting an issue,
the technical escalation process should be followed. That process is detailed below.

Timing
MeRL customers will begin to experience the enhancements on April 1, 2011. There will be a
two week infant care period where CMD will closely monitor these new enhancements to ensure
