The details for our Annual OLA Swimming Carnival for Years 2-6 are as follows:
TIME: Students are to arrive at school promptly by 8:45am. Buses will depart
school at 9:00am. The first event starts at 10:00am.
COST: The cost of the carnival is included in your child's school fees.
EVENTS:
Students will compete in the events according to their age (determined by the
year they were born). Boys and Girls will compete in separate events in each stroke. Please
note that this year there will be NO FINALS. Times will be taken from each heat in order to
qualify for the next level of competition. Please complete the nomination Google Form for
events your child would like to enter.
Students who are not taking part in competitive races will follow a novelty schedule
that includes games in and out of the water. Please note that if students choose to
participate in competitive events they must complete ALL races prior to participating
in novelty events. This will only occur if time permits.
SPECTATORS:
Parents are able to attend the carnival as spectators.
There will be a designated spectator area and parents/carers will be asked to remain in the
spectator area and to not interact with students during the carnival.
Please note, parents attending as spectators will be required to pay an entrance fee upon
arrival at the pool.
UNIFORM: Children will wear their Summer Sports Uniform. Please have all items
labelled. Caps and goggles can be worn. Children may also wear
sun protection rash shirts. School hats and sunblock must be worn for sun
protection.
LUNCH: There will be time once students arrive to have morning tea. Lunch will be
timetabled into the running of the day.
VOLUNTEERS:
We need volunteers to help with marshalling and timekeeping. If you
are available to help, and have completed the Mandatory Child Safe Schools Volunteer
Workshop for 2023, please fill in the below Google Form.
If you have any questions regarding the Carnival, please do not hesitate to forward these via
email to the school office.
Yours sincerely,
