RE: CARROLL COLLEGE ANNUAL SWIMMING CARNIVAL

The following letter contains information regarding the 29th Annual Carroll College Swimming Carnival.
The day is compulsory and all students are required to attend.

12,13,14,15,16,17+ years 100m freestyle, followed by the boys 100m freestyle are encouraged to arrive
at 8.40am. Note some buses may not make it in time for the start of the 100m races, please come early
if you wish to compete in these).
Venue: Moruya Swimming Pool
Cost: $4.80 per student
Important Bus Information:
On this occasion, we are seeking support from families (where possible) to assist with transporting their
child/ren to Moruya Pool on this day. Prior’s Bus Service is unable to assist with transporting students
beyond the normal school route to the College. This is problematic with timing as we need to commence
the carnival on time to ensure we complete all events on the program. If parents are able to transport
their children to and from the Carnival, this would be very helpful.
We appreciate this may not be possible for all families. The College is happy to organise the necessary
bus transport from the College to Moruya Pool (through Marshall’s Bus Company) to enable all students
to arrive later at the pool. Please indicate if your child will require bus transport from the College to
and from Moruya Pool on 10 February by completing and returning the attached form OR via
Compass by 5th of February 2024.
Please note, if your child normally catches a Marshall’s bus, students will be dropped directly to
Moruya Pool on this day.
Parents are permitted to collect their children from the pool at the conclusion of the carnival. However,
students must provide a signed note to their Homeroom Teacher advising the College. Students must
also provide a signed note from home if they are travelling with another student's parents. Students must
let Mrs Ibbett, Assistant Principal Pastoral know before leaving the pool. We aim to have the carnival
completed by 2.30pm.
Dress: House colours or sports uniform must be worn. This is not a mufti day for students. Year 12 are
permitted to come in appropriate fancy dress. The dress up theme for this years carnival is different for
each house - Chisholm will be lifeguards, MacKillop will be Hawaiian Blue and Xavier will be army.
Students may wear appropriate items associated with these themes.
What to bring: Students should bring food, drink, a hat, swimmers, sunscreen, towel, and goggles.
Limited Canteen facilities will be available on the day, so students are encouraged to bring a packed
lunch and plenty to drink.
Students will not be permitted to leave the venue to purchase lunch or snacks during the day.

Before participating in this event, we have advised all participants must not attend if they are displaying
COVID-19 symptoms.

Kind regards,

Charlton Fogarty Andrew Kenneally
