Dear Primary School Parent / Guardian,

As you are well aware, we are busy with our athletics season for 2024. On Friday 09 February
2024, the Krugersdorp Cluster Athletics meeting will be held at Laerskool Krugersdorp-Noord.
Athletes who will be participating will be notified closer to the time, depending on the number of
learners who are allowed to partake, and in which event, as stipulated by the district.

As this event will involve many of our teachers, as requested by District, we have no other
choice but to declare that 09 February 2024 will be a non-academic day. For this reason, we
request that those learners who do not partake in athletics, please remain at home.
Should a learner remaining at home not be an option for you, supervision will be provided by
those teachers not attending the Krugersdorp Cluster. More information will be sent to parents
closer to the time regarding those athletes who have been selected, as learners will be required
to be at the cluster 45 minutes before each event. Should it rain, this event will presumably be
moved to Monday 12 February 2024. We will most definitely keep you informed.

PLEASE NOTE: The swimming gala will also be taking place on 09 February 2024 at
Trinity Little Falls. The learners who have been selected to swim, will be requested to either
be at school at 12:30 in order for them to be transported with the school bus, or learners are
welcome to make use of their own transport. Further communication with regards to learners
who will be making use of the bus and those who will be making use of their own transport will
be sent through shortly.

We hope and trust you understand the scenario we face with having very few teachers who will
be at school on 09 February 2024. As mentioned, there will be supervision classes on that day
and aftercare and the bus will run as per usual.
