Minutes of the Daksh Educational Fair Meeting (2023-24)

Date: October 26, 2023

Time: 9:00-9:30pm
Location: Virtual Meeting

AGENDA

1. Ideas of each Sub- Committees for Daksh

2. Feedback for the plan of action for Daksh

The meeting commenced at 9:00 PM with a warm welcome extended to all council members
by the University Student Council members Mahajan, Rithika and Gokul, marking the
beginning of the council meeting. The primary agenda of the meeting included the
introduction of Daksh and how it focuses on career guidance and post-graduation aspects by
the USC member Mahajan and lead to the discussion of ideas prepared by each sub-
committee which includes Events and Logistics, Documentation and social media and Design.
It focuses on the various opportunities made available to pre-university, undergraduate, and
postgraduate students. DAKSH would help to guide students to acquire knowledge and make
informed choices regarding their higher education and careers.

Through active participation in the stalls, dialogues with eminent speakers from various
disciplines as well as personalized career counseling sessions, students will be able to learn
about various vocations and fields of study they could pursue. The School of Law, Christ
Deemed to be University, will be provided with twin stalls with a size of 20 X 10 ft. Each
sub-committee presented unique ideas, such as mock trials, mock ADR, and games planned
for organization. One notable concept was to design one side of the stall from a Litigation or
Supreme Court perspective, while the other side would represent a corporate background.
This showcased the evolution of the legal profession, emphasizing not only litigation but also
the importance of the corporate sector and firms. Additionally, the plan included the
incorporation of physical feedback, which was absent during Daksh 2022-2023. The approach
for Daksh 2023-24 aimed to be distinct from previous years. It was suggested that Daksh
posters should be available in both digital and hard copy formats.

Moreover, the social media team, in collaboration with other sub-committees, planned
initiatives to work with other committees and highlight them through the Daksh Promotional
Video 2023-2024. A fifth-year council member proposed a focus on firms and corporate
buildings at one side of the stall, highlighting the career opportunities available in the legal
field.

Subsequently, at 9:15 PM, Dr. Pukhraj Agarwal, Faculty Coordinator of the Student Council
for the School of Law at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), addressed the students. He
provided feedback on the various ideas presented and suggested maximizing the use of
existing resources from previous Daksh events. Additionally, the social media team was
School of Law CHRIST (Deemed to be University)

advised to work on posters, promotional videos, and other materials, including the AI Legal
Bot, required for the twin stalls measuring 20 X 10 ft.

The meeting concluded at 9:40 PM, leaving members with a renewed sense of purpose,
shared responsibility, and commitment to put the existing ideas and innovations into the
Daksh Educational Fair. The discussions from this meeting are intended to be translated into
action, with subsequent meetings of each sub-committee to implement the ideas for Daksh
2023-24.
