MY SECOND HOME
IN THE NEW NORMAL SETTING

This section describes my second home in the New Normal Setting, my cooperating
school/ unit or campus I am affiliated with. Getting to know well my second home in terms
of facilities, teaching and learning platforms and its learning resources will help me spend
my entire practice teaching more comfortable and sense of belongingness. It is therefore
important for me to visit these resources and facilities in order to maximize my use of them
all.

My Aims/Purposes

At the end of this activity, I will be able to:

a. Know by heart the campus/school’s vision and mission. (Laboratory school if

there’s any/ the campus you are enrolled in lieu of Laboratory School)

b. Get to know the different campus facilities as well as their importance

c. Get acquainted with different campus personnel and their respective

functions/responsibilities.

What is my impression about my second home in post pandemic setting?

Don Ramon E. Costales Memorial National High School (DRECMNHS) is not on the list of my

choices to take conduct my teaching internship because I'm not familiar with it or even to other
______________________________________________________________________
schools here in Pangasinan because I studied or finished my primary and secondary education in
our city, Gapan City Nueva Ecija. So, what I did is that I asked my friends about that school, and I

was amazed to find out that DRECMNHS is one of the most prestigious secondary schools here in
______________________________________________________________________
Region 1. With that information, I am more afraid now to be deployed there.
When I finally saw how big DRECMNHS was, I was so overwhelmed. The cleanliness, the

fourth-floor buildings, the population of teachers and students. DRECMNHS is indeed my second
my second home. But there is a home within that home, the English Department Office.

When we enter the office together with my co-interns, the atmosphere of the office was

already welcoming. The teachers are very funny, and I feel their genuine smile. So before we know
who will be our assigned cooperating teacher, Ma'am Shiela, the Master Teacher III, allow us to write

and to choose the grade level we wanted to be assigned. I let my co-interns to choose what they

want first because I am also undecided and whatever grade level is left in choices is fine with me.
Technically, I was assigned to the Grade 9 level. So, when Ma'am Shiela introduced me to my

would be Cooperating Teacher (CT), and when I pronounce her surname, I thought I was wrong
______________________________________________________________________
because she suddenly pronounces her name differently from mine. But then she suddenly laugh and
said that she is just joking. From there, I already feel like 'Thank you, Lord!'. She was so kind,

humorous, patience, and most of all understanding. She is like my second sister. Especially,
______________________________________________________________________
when I get sick and am admitted to the emergency, she is my rest. She takes good care of me.

She always considered my health. She always makes sure that I am comfortable around her.
