Brief

Highland Outdoor Adventures are a growing company based in the Highland


region of Scotland. The company hire and sell winter and summer outdoor
adventure equipment, as well as sell a range of accessories and clothing. For
winter this includes skis, and snowboards and summer, paddleboards,
surfboards and canoes and kayaks.

The company currently use Facebook, Instagram and YouTube to advertise


their location, products and services but now want a dedicated app that will
display/view well on a range of devices to help promote the business.

Due to the increasing popularity of these sports, they anticipate a wide range
of end users and want an app that will appeal to the target clientele.

Phase one of the app should advertise special offers that would change
monthly, photos, prices and specifications for winter and summer equipment,
clothes and accessories hired and sold. Most importantly the address, location,
opening hours and contact details should be immediately obvious.

The company would like to encourage app users to register their details so
they can be sent monthly emails detailing offers and events. They have
recently registered with TripAdvisor and would like clients to be able to link
directly from the app here too.

As the company are based near ski and snowboard runs, and lochs and coast,
they have photos and videos of activities that they would like to be used in the
app.

The company currently have an existing logo and brand they would like to
continue using. They would be happy to discuss improvements to the logo if
required. They are looking for an app that is attractive, friendly but
professional looking and conjures up excitement, adrenaline and the outdoors.

Standard requirements are an app accessible to all users, with an interface that
complies with recognised standards. They are hoping to have a prototype site
ready within 3 months and this phase of the project has a budget of £2100.

Functional Requirements:

 Should advertise monthly special offers, prices, specifications, and


photos of winter and summer equipment, clothes, and accessories hired
and sold.
 Should display the address, location, opening hours and contact details
of the store in a place that is immediately obvious.
 Should encourage users to register their details to be sent monthly
emails.
 Should allow users to link their TripAdvisor account.
 Should display photos and videos of activities to promote products.

Non-Functional Requirements:

 Should use the existing logo and brand of the company throughout the
app’s design.
 Should be accessible to all users.
 A prototype should be ready within 3 months.
 Should comply with recognised standards.
