EVALUATE:

Challenge 1:

1. There are 25 servings in a 12.5-ounce thermos flask. How many ounces are in a serving?

25 servings = 12.5 ounce

1 serving = 12.5/25 ounce

= 0.5 ounce

Challenge 2:

2. Jesse want to fill his 2.5L thermos flask with half hot chocolate and half regular milk. How many
millilitres of hot chocolate will he need?

2.5L thermos flask with half hot chocolate and half regular milk.

= Hot chocolate = 2.5/2

= 1.25L

1L = 1000mL

=Hot chocolate = 1.25 x 1000 = 1250mL

Challenge 3:

3. Suzie fills a 1- pint thermos with milk each day for lunch. How many times will she be able to fill her
thermos with 1/2 gallon of milk? (1pint = 1/8 th of a gallon)

1 pint = 1/8 of a gallon

= 4 pint = ½ of gallon

Therefore she will be able to fill four times

Challenge 4:

4. There are 4 thermos flasks that are arranged in the ascending order of their heights. If the height of the
smallest flask given in figure is expressed as 7/25 𝑥=10.5 cm. Then, find the height of the largest
thermos flask.
