1. Introduction

• In this project, we are going to make a Sword Breaker Knife by using Abrasive Water
Jet Machining. We use steel for work piece and access the machine with SolidWork
for flow software.
• Abrasive Water Jet Machining (AWJM) is non-traditional machining process.
• In these processes, the mechanical energy of water and abrasive are used to achieve
material removal or machining.
• Abrasive water jet machining developed in 1974 to clean metal prior to surface
treatment of the metal.

4. Conclusion

• From starting point to the end, we have focused on two things which are equipment
and operating.

• In process, we use a AWJM, garnet sand, water supply, a steel workpiece part and
SolidWork program for flow software.

• In operating, we start from design in software, workpiece installation, setting up and

positioning, and start cutting to get the part we are desired.

• By observing, we can say this AWJM has work high speed and high accuracy.

• This project is the basic knowledge of non-traditional processing that can bring us to
have idea or to create more modern machine and products in the future work.
