Central Yorkshire Scouts Cubadoodledoo 2022 Risk Assessment – Backwoods Cooking


This risk assessment is to be read and applied in conjunction with:

 Hesley Wood Campsite's Risk Assessments

 Backwards cooking has a suitable ratio subject to age and other
considerations of the groups of Cubs
 Ensure not too many Cubs around the same fire simultaneously
 Cubs warned of heat of food when comes off fire
 Ensure there is a bucket / bowl of water present
 Ensure Cubs are advised to be careful with sticks – not to point
towards anyone else (to avoid injury to others) and not to run with
sticks;
 Cubs warned that the bamboo skewers will set on fire if placed
directly into the flame;
 Cubs are warned that barrels and other metal objects (as may be
utilised) will be hot.

The risk is adequately controlled
