This course includes the legislative and
technical organization methods of exercising
the profession through the study and
reconstruction of legislation and laws
governing the profession exercise and
regulations including:

and working systems including arts and
technologies of contracting and tendering rules
• The Types of specifications – Methods of
writing specifications
• Arts and technologies of contracting and
tendering rules
• Methods of examination and evaluation at
the local and global the rules and regulations
of integrated implementation.

Saudi Arabia witnessed a large number of construction projects where many
engineers from all over the world contributed in them during the 1970s. That
meant to bring different types of building systems leading to many
construction defects.
When was the date to start developing the Saudi Building Code?
- On the 9/3/1421, Resolution (decision) number 3230‫ب‬7 to form The
National technical committee specializing in the Saudi Authority for
Standards and Quality.

What do we mean by the Saudi Building Code?
‫هو مجموعة االشرتاطات واملتطلبات وما يتبعها من أنظمة ولواحئ تنفيذية وماحلق تضمن احلد الادىن من‬
‫الساملة والصحة العامة وذكل من خالل متانة واس تقرار وثبات املباين واملنشآت وس بل الوصول الهيا‬
‫وتوفري البيئة الصحية والاضاءة والهتوية الاكفية وترش يد املياه والطاقة وحامية الارواح واملمتلاكت من‬
‫أخطار احلريق وغريه من اخملاطر املرتبطة ابملباين‪.‬‬
What are the main objectives of the Saudi Building Code?
 • Preparation of a unified building code in the Kingdom.
• Preparation and establishment of the foundations and design criteria for
seismic-resistant facilities.
• Preparation of a plan to study the correction and improvement of the
seismic efficiency of the existing buildings In the Kingdom, the active areas
of the earthquake.
• To propose regulations that require public and private sectors to apply
standards Design of buildings and facilities resistant to earthquakes in the
Kingdom.
