 “The Ant and the Dove”
One day, an Ant was walking on a river bank. He
walked, and walked and walked. Suddenly he slipped
and fell into the river. He shouted, “Help! Help!, I’m
drowning!”. Luckily, a Dove was flying near the river. She
heard the Ant. “Someone is in trouble”, she said. Then
she saw the Ant, “Hold on, I’ll save you”, said the Dove.
She then threw a leaf on the water. The Ant climbed on it
and the Dove save his life. He said to the Dove, “Thank
you for saving my life, I will always remember your
kindness”.
A few days later, the Ant saw the Dove was in
trouble too. A hunter was going to shoot the Dove. “Oh,
no, the Dove is in trouble, I have to save her”. At once the
Ant bit the hunter in the foot. “Ouch!”, cried the hunter.
He dropped his gun and the Dove flew away. The Ant was
very happy because now he could help the Dove.
 Terjemahan
“Si Semut dan Merpati”
Suatu hari seekor semut sedang berjalan di tepi sungai. Dia
berjalan, berjalan dan berjalan. Tiba-tiba ia terpeleset dan jatuh ke
dalam sungai. Ia berteriak, “Tolong! Tolong!, Aku tenggelam!”.
Untungnya seekor Merpati sedang terbang di dekat sungai. Dia
mendengar Semut tersebut. “Seseorang sedang dalam masalah”,
kata nya. Kemudian ia melihat si Semut. “Tunggu, aku akan
menyelamatkanmu”, kata si Merpati. Ia kemudian melemparkan
sebuah daun ke sungai. Si semut memanjatnya dan Merpati
menyelamatkan hidupnya. Ia berkata pada Merpati, “Terima kasih
telah menyelamatkan hidupku, aku akan selalu mengingat
kebaikanmu”.
Beberapa hari kemudian, Semut melihat Merpati sedang
dalam masalah juga. Seekor pemburu akan menembak Merpati.
“Oh tidak, Merpati sedang dalam masalah, aku harus
menyelamatkannya”. Segera semut menggigit pemburu di
kaki.“Aduh!” seru si Pemburu. Ia menjatuhkan senapannya dan
Merpati terbang jauh. Si semut sangat senang, karena sekarang ia
dapat membantu Merpati.
