The Ant and The Dove

Once upon a time a very thirsty Ant was drinking water from the river.
Suddenly, the Ant lost his balance and fell into the river water. “Help…help…
help!” cried the Ant.
But no one could hear his cries. A dove, sitting on a tree nearby, saw that the
Ant was in a trouble.
She quickly plucked off a leaf from the tree and dropped it into the water. The
Ant climbed on the leaf.
He thanked the Dove for saving his life.
After a few days, the Dove was sitting on the tree. The Aunt saw a hunter
aiming his arrow at the Dove.
The Ant knew that his friend, the Dove, was in danger. He quickly bit the
hunter’s leg.
The hunter cried in pain. The hunter’s arrow missed the Dove.
This time, the Ant saved the Dove. The Dove thanked the Ant for saving her
life. And they become friends forever.

THE UGLY TREE
Once upon a time in large forest. There grewed many different trees. Such as
mango, teak, oak, baniyan, neam, ect.

Among them there was one tree which had a crooked truck. It looked very ugly
compered to others trees.

The other trees used to tease him. “You are an ugly tree .. oh ..no.. you’re an
ugly tree” The poor tree was so sad and always thought “Oh God, why did you
make me so ugly? “Why I’m not beautiful like other trees? “

One day, a wood cutter came to the forest. And he saw the ugly crooked tree
and said “This crooked tree is of no use to me, I’ll cut down the other straight
trees”.

He cut out the other stright trees except the crooked tree. On seeing this the
crooked tree said “Thank God! My ugliness saved my life. We should never
blame God for our troubles. God has a reason for everything.

We all know, the lion is the King of the jungle. Once a lion was fast asleep
when a little mouse ran up and down of him. This awakened the lion. He was
angry and caught the mouse with his hug paw. (roaaaarrr) Then he opened his
big mouth to swallow him.

“Please forgive me, O King of jungle,” cried the little mouse. I shall never
forget your kindness. I may be small but who knows, someday I may turn out to
be some kind of help to you.”

The lion laughed and took pity and set the mouse free.

A few days later, the lion got caught in a hunter’s net. He roared but in vain.
The little mouse heard and ran towards the lion. Immediately the mouse started
cutting the net with its tiny teeth.

Soon the lion was free and thanked the little mouse. Thereafter, they became
friends.

The Ant and the Grasshopper

One beautiful summer day, a lazy grasshopper was sitting and enjoying the sun,
just as he did every day! Then the ant hardworking and passed by. Bearing
along with great effort. An ear of corn that he was taking to his nest.

Why you don’t you come and chat with me? “asked the grasshopper instead of
working all day.” I’m saving food for the winter season. Said the ant “I think
you should do the same”

What will you eat when the weather gets cold? How will you feed your hungry
household?

The grasshopper laughed and said “You are always in such a hurry” why do you
always work and worry ? why bother about winter now ? said the grasshopper.

We have got plenty of food at present. But the ant was very wise. And didn’t
pay attention to grasshopper words. He continued to work hard and stored
enough food for the winter.

The winter came sooner than expected. The grasshopper couldn’t find a place to
stay anything to eat. He went to the ant house and begged him for food and
shelter.

I’m sorry, but I can’t help you, the ant said. I only have room and food for my
family. So go and find help somewhere else.

I should have followed the ant’s example. The grasshopper said sadly.

The moral of the story is: There is a time for work, and there is a time for
play. If you play during the time you are supposed to work then be ready to
face the consequences
