1. Discuss the features of a biological community.
- The features of a biological community is sharing of space and interactions at a
reproductive and behavioral level, diversity, density, dominance and composition.
2. Differentiate biological community from ecological community.
- The primary difference between the two involves the scope of interactions within the
system. A community includes all interactions with living things, while an ecosystem
contains all interactions – living or non-living.
3. Are natural resources have effect on the species composition, structure, and function.
- Yes, natural resources have effect on the species composition, structure and function.
4. Discuss the importance of community interactions.

- In most cases, many species share a habitat, and the interactions between them play
a major role in regulating population growth and abundance. Together, the populations
of all the different species that live together in an area make up what's called an
ecological community. For instance, if we wanted to describe the ecological community
of a coral reef, we would include the populations of every single type of organism we
could find, from coral species to fish species to the single-celled, photosynthetic algae
living in the corals. For a healthy reef, that comes out to a whole lot of different species.

5. Why organisms compete? Can competition favor or eliminate biological species.

- Organisms compete for the resources they need to survive air, water, food and space.
Competition in biology is a term that describes how living organisms directly or indirectly
seek resources. Competitions often drives adaptations, such as reproductive strategies
to increase the chances of survival and reproduction. Competition can also lead to the
competitive exclusion principle, which states that two species cannot coexist indefinitely
if they share the same limiting resources.
6. For an ideal community interaction, what must be observed?
- For me It would be diversity and understanding, where all members of the community
can mix naturally can express themselves.

Let’s Analyze:

1.How human disturbance affects ecosystems?

- Many of the changes that occur in the ecosystem are results of human activity like
habitat loss, pollution, overexploitation of natural resources and climate change.
2. Identify physical and biological factors that are most important in shaping the biotic
community.
- Physical factors are climate, temperature, precipitation, humidity and wind patterns
greatly influence the distribution and abundance of organisms in biotic community while
the Biological factors are species interaction, relationships between species, such as
predation, competition, and mutualism, can greatly influence the structure and
composition of biotic community.
3. What are the factors that limit ecosystem functionality?
- Limiting factors of an ecosystem include disease, severe climate and weather
changes, predator-prey relationship, commercial development, environmental pollution
and more. An excess or depletion of any one of these limiting factors can degrade and
even destroy a habitat.
