Part Two:

Comments/Reflection: Take a moment to discuss your experience, areas you feel you did well, and areas
you feel you could improve. It is mandatory to discuss both areas.

I feel with previous practice throughout the discussion questions, I have learned to remain calmer and
more open in communicating with volunteer clients. I show that I’m engaged in the conversation and
also that I’m listening to them and caring about their concerns. I feel like I could improve in being more
conscious about my eye contact, I noticed when I talk sometimes, I look off to the side without realizing.
Another key take away is informing client that session is coming to an end and inquire if there is
anything else client would like to inform or disclose prior to closing as it can allow them to bring in
conversation for the next session or communicate any last-minute concerns. Towards the end prior to
closing, I can also try to summarize what has been discussed since the start of the session and right
before closing to end on a note that client was heard.
