Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

Let's work together to develop regional tourism by optimizing each other's roles.
Tourism promotion can be carried out by every citizen through the means they have, namely
through social media. The potential for natural, historical and culinary tourism as well as the
potential for cultural arts. Efforts to develop tourism in Bengkulu Province must be integrated
into the same direction so that the policies of each Regency or City and Province are in tune.
So districts/cities must mutually promote existing regional tourism objects so that the
information is widely disseminated. Bengkulu has many tourist destinations, ranging from
historical tours, to nature and culinary tours that are no less interesting than other well-known
regions.

South Bengkulu is one of the administrative areas, a regency in Bengkulu Province.
Administratively, the south Bengkulu region covers the north directly adjacent to Seluma
Regency, to the east by South Sumatra Province, to the south by Kaur Regency, and to the
west by the Indian Ocean. Meanwhile, coordinately This district is located on the coordinates
of latitude and longitude, namely 03°49'55.66” South Latitude, 04°21'40.22” South Latitude
and 101°17'27.57” East Longitude - 102°59'40.54” East Longitude. The majority of people
here work in agriculture, plantation and fishery such as clove, coffee, food, secondary crops,
horticulture, coconut, oil palm, rubber, fish, and shrimp.

South Bengkulu has the capital city of Manna, where this regency has a majority of
people who come from the Serawai / Pasemah tribe. The dialect and language used is very
distinctive, even the type of language spoken is different from other districts in Bengkulu
Province. Interestingly, tourists can also learn the local language of the Serawai tribe. In
addition, several Serawai tribal customs can be found here such as the art of singing and
gongs, Tujuh Likur Night Tradition (traditions in welcoming the 27th day of the month of
Ramadan, the Islamic year), and traditional wedding processes such as Memecah Nasi (food
dishes served during the procession wedding receptions which are usually served for local
leaders, important guests such as kings, regional leaders and others), Bimbang Gedang (the
highlight of the wedding reception where this process occurs after an agreement on marriage
between the prince and the traditional leader), and Malam Inai Curi (the preparations made to
beautify the bride and groom which will later be displayed at the wedding). With so many
native local cultures, tourists will be spoiled with local cultural destinations that cannot be
found in other areas.

Across the equator, South Bengkulu has natural conditions with a tropical climate which
is quite hot and humid with tropical forests. In addition, because it is located on the outskirts
of the beach, warm air coming from the shoreline is easy to find in this regency. With such
natural conditions, South Bengkulu has the potential for natural tourism with a background of
beaches, forests and or waters. This tourism potential can be divided into natural tourism,
artificial tourism, and cultural tourism.

Hill, Batu Putih Beach and Pasar Bawah beach. With a fairly low cost and smooth access by
two or four-wheeled vehicles. The local government has targeted the development of access
to locations such as paving roads so that they can be reached by tourists. In the dense jungle,
you can find typical plants such as Rafflesia flowers or Puspa Nusa (Rafflesia arnoldii).
Flowers can grow around South Bengkulu Regency or its surroundings with a height of 110
cm when in bloom and can weigh up to 10 kg. The name of this flower is derived from the
name of a doctor and explorer in the 19th century AD, Joseph Arnold. He saw Rafflesia
arnoldii in 1818 when he was exploring the Manna river in the hinterland of Manna, South
Bengkulu.
If tourists want to climb, South Bengkulu Regency provides tropical rainforests that are
beautiful, clean, and still well-maintained with their ecosystem of flora and fauna. This area
is included in a conservation area or protected forest with very dense trees. There are many
azaleas or Rhododendrons with their beautiful red colour in this area. This hill is part of the
Broken Mountain in Kaur Regency, Bengkulu. Because it is still very quiet, visitors will feel
the sensation of a calm and peaceful atmosphere when climbing.
With a coastline of approximately 60 km, visitors will be spoiled with the beauty of the
beaches in South Bengkulu. A gust of wind hits the shoreline and shakes the coconut trees,
which is the hallmark of the beach. People usually pass by the beach which is the Bengkulu-
Lampung route. In addition, the typical view of fishermen who have just returned and gone
fishing in the middle of the sea adds to the distinctive attributes of the beach.

Fishermen who have just returned to the sea usually immediately sell their catch which
can be purchased directly by residents. The advantages obtained from the fish that are sold
are the types of sea fish that are diverse and of course still fresh. Residents and tourists can
bargain with fishermen or sellers at an agreed price. Because the location is not crowded,
tourists can set up tents while camping there and while enjoying a grill or fish dishes bought
from the fishermen earlier. Of course, tourists will experience an extraordinary experience
here with its natural scenery.
Apart from that, South Bengkulu Regency also has many other natural attractions such as
Ilir Seginim Lake and Sepit Kancing. Apart from that, there is Tebat Rukis in the form of an
artificial lake with a yellow bridge crossing in the middle, Batu Putih Beach and Pasar Bawah
Beach which are natural tourist objects in the form of a beach, rafting which is a sport by
riding a rubber boat across the river, Honisuit Cannon which is an artificial weapon. The
British were brought by Japanese soldiers during the Bengkulu colonial period, Ilir Seginim
Lake presents a natural panorama where the place is one of the favourite places to relax with
family or go fishing, Sepit Kancing is a part of the Air Bekenang River where walls are found
in this location. the giant rock is narrow and separated by a river flow so this location is
called "Sepit Kancing" which is narrow and buttoned/locked, and Merdeka Park is a park
location where you can take pictures and just hang out. The development of these tourist
destinations is none other than the concern of the community and local government. Thus, the
location which was previously unknown can continue to grow until now and become a flower
in the land of South Bengkulu.
Locations are often feared by visitors to tourist destinations because they are prone to
criminal acts. South Bengkulu provides comfort for the security of tourists. The government,
which has integrity with the local police, continues to monitor and provide the best possible
service. But visitors also have to be careful because it could be, negligence of self leads to
criminal acts themselves.
