Cordillera Autonomous Region:

Time spent
Number of Allowance Intelligence
preparing for General Weighted
Student children in per day Quotient
school Average (GWA)
the family (in pesos) (IQ)
(in mins)
A 5 40 85 80 96
B 2 125 45 92 85
C 4 55 78 85 84

H 1 150 30 96 90
I 4 100 76 83 77
J 6 20 92 76 80

1. Create a scatterplot for the following and draw the best-fit line:
a. Number of Children vs allowance per day
b. Allowance per day vs. General Weighted Average
c. General Weighted Average vs Intelligence Quotient
d. Time spent preparing for school vs General Weighted Average

2. Calculate the correlation coefficient between the given variables in #1 and describe the
nature of the computed coefficient with respect to form or shape, direction and strength.

3. Calculate the slope and y-intercept of the regression line for each of the above-mentioned
paired variables #1.

4. Interpret the slope and the y-intercept.

5. Find the equation of the regression line.
