HERE’S the SCOOP

Week of: November 6th - November 9th

LOOK WHAT WE’RE LEARNING
Writing: We have been publishing our personal narratives on Book Creator and they are coming out fantastic! Next
week, we’ll be taking a break from writing to learn about the Local, State, and National levels of government!

Math: We have begun our second module in math. This module focuses on many different skills including telling
time, measurement using kilograms/grams and liters/milliliters, as well as rounding, adding, and subtracting. We
spent a few days on telling time and the students have done great so far!

Reading: This week our mentor text was Private I. Guana and we worked on many skills around that text. We
were also introduced to consonant blends. Our reading block is up and running down with students working
independently and small groups happening each day!

UPDATES/REMINDERS
1. With the cold weather (and snow) here now, please be sure your child is coming to school with snow pants, a hat,
gloves, and snow boots. If they do not have all of these things, they are limited as to what they can do during recess.

2. Please also be sure to have a change of clothes on hand in case students get wet through their gear…I’ve had many
students in the past even leave a pair of sneakers in their lockers to be able to change out of their boots and into
dry shoes!
