My reflection on Session 2-

In this session, we learnt about the intricate process of ideation, emphasizing the role of
divergence, which further entails generating an array of varied and innovative ideas. Two
core divergence techniques, analytic and synthetic generation, were explored, each offered a
distinct approach to spawning ideas. It was through data-driven analysis and amalgamating
existing ideas to formulate new ideas. The session also helped in unpacking a comprehensive
model of ideation, comprising four pivotal stages: idea generation, evaluation, refinement,
and selection. Each stage, from initially spawning concepts without judgment through
brainstorming and mind mapping, evaluating them utilizing feasibility and SWOT analyses,
refining them through feedback loops and prototyping, which ultimately led to selecting the
most promising ideas via methods like cost-benefit analysis and consensus building. We
learnt about the imperative of structured ideation, ensuring that innovative concepts are not
only generated but are also viable, beneficial, and aligned with stakeholders, blending both
analytic and synthetic techniques for well-rounded, implementable solutions.
