Poverty means the state of being extremely poor.

Poverty has become one of the global

problems. We have seen many problems with poverty worldwide, especially in Africa and India. The
state of being penniless is not something that we wish happened to us. It is a terrible situation a
human can face but We are fully aware of these things. There are ways that we can do to give
awareness to society about this problem.

Firstly, we can give awareness to society by educating them about this matter. We can
include about poverty in student education. Students can learn and understand more about this
problem because they are not exposed to this matter. Teachers can explain more details about things
regarding poverty so that they can understand better. For example, poverty should be included in
subjects like history and civic education. Therefore, a generation that is well educated can be born so
that in the future they can help to change the world.

Secondly, we can give awareness by organizing a charity campaign. Many charities out there
had organized a campaign but our society did not fully aware of this. This is because our society
views this thing as a nonserious matter. we should support the charities that expose the terrible
effect of poverty. We can give support by donating money or giving things so that they can use this
donation to help those in need. Not only that, we could bring our family members or friend to attend
this campaign so they could increase their knowledge about poverty. As a result, we could help to
change the opinion of society on how bad is the poverty problem to us humanity.

Thirdly, we should increase media coverage of poverty. Media like tv news should publish
more about poverty problems not only in Malaysia but also around the world. Social media also can
be used to publish news about poverty. This is because most people used social media to get
information. For instance, Facebook and Twitter are one of the most used social media on the
internet. We could gain information regarding poverty if there is more awareness in social media.
People would be shocked if they know the things that have been going on about poverty. Hence,
media coverage can be a tool that is effective to increase society’s knowledge about poverty.

In conclusion, a matter of poverty should be viewed as a serious problem for us because

poverty is actually a discrimination of humanity. Hopefully we people can help to fix this problem so
that everyone can live happily. We should stand together and help those in need. If this problem is
underestimated it will eventually affect our life.
