The Glorious James II Was dethroned and replaced by her daughter
Mary, and Husband William of Orange.
Revolution
(1688-1689) • Which led to the creation of a Constitutional Monarchy,
and Parliamentary sovereignty.
Brief of the Glorious Revolution
• At 1685, King Charles II died and James II became king in 1685. On his
deathbed he converted to Catholicism.

• He named Catholics all around England to high positions in government,


army , and navy. However, Parliament was against Catholicism and are
protestants.

• Moreover, a group of English nobles invited the Dutch leader, William of


Orange, to invade England. They informed him that most of the English
people wanted a change.
