How to sign in to Microsoft Teams?

Sign in to Teams for the first time

There are two ways to log in Microsoft Teams:

1) Downloading the application


2) Log in Microsoft Teams through the DELIMA platform.
(Teachers can also refer to Appendix G)

a) Download Microsoft Teams

1.Type “Microsoft Teams download for laptop windows 10”.

2.Click “Download desktop and mobile apps Microsoft Teams”.

3. Select download for desktop or download for mobile.

4.Sign in using KPM ID (Example: g-20061532@moe-dl.edu.my).

b) Login to Microsoft Teams through the DELIMA Platform

To create a team:

1. Click ‘Teams’ from the App bar.

2. Click ‘Join or Create a Team’ link that appears at the bottom of the App bar.

3. Click the ‘Create a Team’ card.

4. Enter the Team name and description of the team.

5. Choose the privacy settings for your team (Private or Public) and click Next.

6.Add students as members in the group by typing their name or MOE email addresses.

Barkley, Cross and Major (2014) note that the etymology of ‘collaborate’ is to ‘co-labor’, meaning
to all put effort behind a task. Many teachers will set a ‘group work task’, but 20% of the students
will do 80% of the work, leaving others to ride on coat tails, sit around watching, or be excluded by
dominant group members. If this occurs, true collaboration has not been achieved.
For true collaboration to occur, students need to all be putting effort into the task. There needs to be
mutual and coordinated engagement.

Activity 2 : Students edit files collaboratively in Microsoft Teams.

4. Students click the file sent by the teacher to edit in group. Suggestions for teachers: prepare
slides or files that divide each learning standard into each group. So, each group will discuss
and complete the assignment based on the topic given by the teacher.For example, definition
of Science and the important of science in daily life for group 1 and Field and Careers in
Science for group 2.

Activity 3 : 1.During video call, students are divided into specific groups.
2.Students are divided into specific channels for group discussions.

Create breakout rooms during the meeting:

What is Breakout Room?

Breakout rooms allow you to create sub-meetings within your Teams meeting for smaller
groups of participants to collaborate and have discussions. Up to 50 Breakout rooms can
be created for a single meeting.

1. Start the meeting.

2. You can choose to turn on or turn off the camera. You also can select background
filter as background if turn on the camera. Next, click join now.

3. In the meeting controls, select Breakout rooms

4. Choose the number of rooms you want (up to 50).

5.Choose whether you want Teams to evenly assign people to rooms (Automatically) or
assign people yourself (Manually).

6. Select Create rooms.

7.You can add rooms by click add rooms.

8.You also can rename the room by right click at room column.

9. Students in their respective groups can use 'Accountable Talk' to encourage the
participation of all students in their respective groups. Refered to Appendix A.

10.After discussion session, each group should choose a student or expert to explain the topic
to other students in a class or online meeting. This method is called ‘Jigsaw method’.

4.Students can present their slide by click share. Make sure to turn on computer sound,
choose screen or window.

4.If students choose Powerpoint Live, they can see their note, slide and audience during
presenting. Choose slide from Bowser Onedrive or from computer.

What is class materials on Teams?

Class Materials is a special folder available within the files area of the class team, read-
only for students while leaving full permissions for teachers. That's right, anything the
teacher place in that folder stays untouched.

1.Teacher log in Teams using MOE account and choose Teams.

2.Click upload class materials.

uploaded are already in the folder.

4. Students can access and read all the materials provided by the teacher for the
construction of knowledge about the chapter.

Activity 2 : Students keep track of their work by creating to-do lists and completing
assignments within the allotted time.

How does task by planner work?

The Tasks by Planner and To Do app in Microsoft Teams from Office 365 brings together
your individual and personal tasks from To Do and Outlook with your team tasks from
Microsoft Planner. Project management is now easier when you can see your work in one
place.

1. This is a front page view of the team that has been formed and click ‘+’

2.Choose and click ‘Task by Planner and To Do’.

3. Fill in the name on the ‘tab name’ and click save.

name of the member involved with the task.

1.If student using handphone, students need to install Teams in Play Store. After install
teams, student need to log in using MOE account. This is the view after students log in teams
using mobile phones.

2.Click ‘assignment’ tab and then click the Assigned.

3.Student can submit their assignment by attach their work either from OneDrive, Link,
Teams,take a photo or upload from this device.Next, click Hand In to submit their work.

APPENDIX E : 'TASK BY PLANNER AND TO DO', 'TASK' AND 'TODOIST'


APPLICATIONS

Microsoft Tasks by Planner and ToDo (formerly known as Planner) is a feature-rich application
that integrates with Microsoft Teams. This powerful tool enables users to assign, collaborate,
and monitor projects and tasks using a variety of dashboards.

To integrate the Planner app into Teams, simply navigate to the desired channel and select the
+ (Add a Tab) button in the menu bar. When the list of applications comes up, select Tasks by
Planner and ToDo. If you don’t see this listed, start typing Tasks in the search bar and you
should see the app appear.

Use Microsoft Teams with Todoist

Microsoft Teams is a teamwork app that combines features such as messaging, file storage,
and video meetings in one platform.

By integrating Microsoft Teams with Todoist, you’ll not only be able to share tasks with your
collaborators, but you’ll also be able to create your own tasks from messages shared in your
Microsoft Teams account.

Setting up the integration

1. Click Apps in the left-hand menu.
2. Search for Todoist.
3. Click Todoist.
4. A pop-up will appear. Click Add under the Todoist icon.
