Worksheet No. 1.3

“TIME TO PONDER I”
Instruction: Fill-out your answer as instructed by the following questions.

1. Among the Scientific Revolutions mentioned, which event or circumstance do you consider to
be the most significant? Why?

I’d say mathematics and physics which Rene Descartes described. In my opinion
Mathematics is the mirror of civilization and Physics manages the investigation and comprehension
of the physical world. Furthermore, concurrent examination and estimation of analysis and science
lead us to the central comprehension of nature.

2. How was the Scientific Revolution a threat to religious authorities?

Because of its findings, scientific revolution becomes a threat to religious beliefs

through over the years such as Charles Darwin’s Theory regarding the evolution of humans. His
findings like his famous book “On the Origin of Species”, created a worldwide uproar and intense
debate everywhere. All of these were forbidden based on some religious beliefs because a man
was created by God, not from homoerectus nor homosapiens.

3. Imagine you are Galileo Galilei, would you deny what you believed to be true? Explain.

Probably, because I’m a Christian and what we believe is that it also exist but
science also tells evidence so I’m so doubtful about this.
