Kassube Room #5
Religion is defined as an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, practices and worship that centers on
one or more gods. Religion has had a significant impact on world history. Throughout the centuries,
religion has guided the beliefs and actions of millions of people around the globe. Use information from
the class discussion, video, class website and textbook to assist you.
Step #1: You will work in groups of TWO. Once a group is formed, you will be assigned a religion.
Each group will be responsible to identify each of the following for their specified religion:
1) Name
2) Symbol
3) Number of followers
4) Name of deity
5) Founder
6) Holy Book
7) Leadership
8) Their basic beliefs
Step #2: Next, your group will receive a handout filled with questions specifically related to your group
and assigned religion.
Step #3: Your group will teach the class (presentation) about the religion you are responsible for. You
will produce and distribute a handout, poster or video that will be shared with your classmates, educating
them about the key facts and components of your religion (images and pictures are highly encouraged).
Step #4: Finally, posters and handouts will be placed on display throughout the room for your classmates
to review. You will be given a handout for each of the other religions and expected to complete via the
gallery walk
