Lesson Plan

N2
1. Greetings
Greet the students and ask them to sit down.
2. Activities
Activity 1: The nature of colors
Using a glass, some water, a paper and a torch we'll see the color separation of a white beam. Talk to
children and ask them what's their favorite color.
Activity 2: Color stand up and jump
 Using flashcards I teach children the colors vocabulary (red, green, yellow, blue, pink, orange,
purple, black, white) and ask them to repeat it.
 Split the children in two teams.
 Give out a colored set of pencils to each team, 1 color per student. Tell children to sit down. Say
a color (e.g. "red") and the students holding that color have to quickly stand up, jump and then
sit down. Start off slowly and get faster and faster.
Activity 3: Rainbow sharing.
Using a big paper (if possible A3 size), I will kindly ask children, one by one, to lend me their
pencil:
“Can you give me your pencil, please? Thank you.”
I'll show them how to draw a rainbow.
To finish off, if ther is still time, each student gets a piece of paper. The students have to
draw a rainbow; to do this they will have to nicely ask to share someone else’s marker so
that they could add another stripe to their rainbow.
Material: A glass of water. White papers (one A3, one A4 for each child). A torch. Flashcard colors. 2 sets of
colored pencils or crayons.

K1 & K2
Greetings: Greet the students and ask them to sit down.
Activity 1: Learning and talking about different clothes
Showing the way I get dressed, I'll start to talk about clothes vocabulary and review colors
vocabulary.
“This morning I'm wearing a white shirt and green pants...etc”
Using flashcards (and tablet) I'll teach other clothes vocabulary.
Target Vocab: shirt, pants/trousers, socks, jacket, shoes, hat, skirt, jeans, shorts, blouse, sweater,
tshirt ( if the school can provide real old clothes - also adult size - so children can dress and play
with, it would be great).
I'll ask children to describe how they are dressed and what are their favorite color association and
preference.
Activity 2: “Big wind blows” game.
We put in circle as many chairs as children. Everyone sits with one person in the middle (I'll start
and stay in the middle for a few turns). The person in the middle says:
"The Big Wind Blows for anyone wearing ______ " they fill in the blank with something like "red
shirt", "blue pants"... etc.
Everyone who fits that description has to go into the middle of the circle and find a new place to
stand, the one rule is that they cannot stay in their own spot and they cannot go to the spot
immediately beside them. The person in the middle tries to get a spot on the edge of the circle and
this leaves someone in the middle who makes the big wind blow again!
Material: Clothes flashcards. Second hand clothes (also adult size). Chairs.
