NUCLEAR

ENERGY
By Bianca, Sara & Carmyn
What is Nuclear
Energy?
Nuclear energy is energy in the nucleus
or core of an atom. Nuclear energy be
used to create:
electricity
improvement of harvest
food preservation
How it works
1) Nuclear energy heats the water to produce steam

2) The steam is used to spin large turbines that generate

electricity

3) The nuclear power plants use heat produced during ficcion to

heat water.

4) In nuclear fission atoms are split apart to form smaller atoms

that release energy
The Pros of
Nuclear Energy
Pros

Nuclear Energy has the least deaths per

1000 TWH of electricity productions

It has a low amount of greenhouse gases

meaning it doesn't pollute the air

Maintenance costs are low

Conclusion
To summarise we should be using nuclear energy because

It has a number of sustainable advantages relative to

alternative forms of generation.

Maintenance costs are low

Produces low greenhouse gases
